September 20th ~ 21st.
We went to Lake Baiyangdian on a company trip. Although it was not the right season to travel there -- the cloud of lotus and reed flourishes in every July and August -- I also focused on any minute point, hoping for some surprises, because I am always well-disposed toward any place where I haven't been to.

Here is where I lived. A very distinguished small yard with the name of Sanhe yard, a little smaller than traditional Sihe yard in Beijing.

In the small yard, many kinds of plants are grown there.

The deep red lanterns are hung high up before door. They will be turned up when night comes. Have you seen the movie of Raise The Red Lantern>>, directed by well-known Chinese director Zhang Yimou? The effect was quite similar with some scenes in this movie.
It's local farmer's house, quite different with ours.

I like the group of yellow and green. I don't know the exact name of this kind of flower, just called it as Star Grass(Xingxingcao) in my own way.

The leaves have been getting hollow-out while they are still in the tree for insects' bite.

Special composition, I think it's very interesting, and like it very much. What do you think?

Aquiculture in the Lake.

Grand View Garden of lotus. It's a spot in Baiyangdian, where hundreds of kinds of lotus are planted in. I think it must be very grand when all flowers blossom out, but it's a pity to me to miss it this time.

There is a long trestle bridge wandering through the lake, so you can have a walk with beautiful flowers around.

In Baiyangdian, reed and papyrus are everywhere. During the World War Two, masses and troops can hide themself in luxuriant plant to escape from the raids from enemy. The Soldier Boy, Zhang Ga>>, taking the Movement of Resistance Against Japanese as subject matter, will tell you an interesting story which happened around Baiyangdian, and you will know more about fisherman and their life here.

The fishermen. In busy tourist season, they will ferry across the lake for coming tourists. They will earn 15 yuan for one around trip. Then they work on their cash crop, and also raise fish and poultry during the other months for adding to the total income.

Sky in the water.

Wild flowers beside the roads. Don't touch it! -- Joking.

Dew on the leaves.

Flowers blossoming in the water.
Trestle bridge on the lake.

When we came back to Beijing, we have to go through security checkpoint.
